Maurice Sendak
The American born childrens writer and illustrator Maurice Sendak was born on June 10, 1928. His most important source of inspiration was his fathers stories and folktales. Later in life, while he was doing odd jobs as painter and window decorator, he discovered his own path.
This is one of his silly poems about this month:
In June I Saw a charming group Of roses all begin to droop. I pepped them up with chicken soup! Sprinkle once, sprinkle twice Sprinkle chicken soup with rice.
Do you remember some of the books he illustrated?
His most important work is called--give up?
Where the Wild Things Are.
