Here are a few things about India that everybody should know:
Before the indian invention of Zero, people used to deal with dozens or half a dozens. Can you imagine saying, One thousand dozens instead of saying 12,000?
Generally the numbers 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 should be called Indian numerals. A lot of people call themArabic numbers. The Arabs generally transferred the knowledge of the east to the west, and-- sometimes the knowledge of the west to the east. The Islamic Empire was very good in helping the world exchange knowledge, or communicate with eachother. One of these was the Indian Numerals, that's mistakenly called Arabic Numbers.
Taj Mahal is the most beautiful building in the world. Perhaps because it was built for love. Shah Jahan built it with white marble stones in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Maha. He was planning to make his own tomb in black marbles next to Taj Mahal, so that he could stay next to his beloved wife all the time.
Gandhi is the most beloved hero in the world. Even his enemies did not hate him. He showed us that a hero is not a big, bulky person. You can be a hero without going to a war, without raising your handor your voice. He showed us that our strength is in our mind.
Buddha was a prince who had everything his heart desired. He taught us that, sometimes, we get mixed up with all the things we have. Then we dont have enough time to learn the TRUE meaning of LIFE. Some Buddhist moks (priests) can live on just an almond a day. Some can go for many days without eating anything at all.
Now, if you want to remember the map of India, so you can find it in any map, heres a simple trick. All you need to remember is Raj Mala, the greatest magician to ever appear in the world map .
